RDepends on what you like. Are you more interested in character driven stories or do you prefer elements of Mystery, fantasy and Sci-fi? It pays in the end for emotion and character arcs but leaves some mysteries unexplained. I would wholeheartedly suggest you watch it regardless of what you prefer. It is one of the most thought-provoking shows in television history with amazing performances throughout with Terry O' Quinn, Michael Emerson, Matthew Fox and Henry Ian Cusack earning high praise. It will make you think about so many things if you do decide to invest in it. I guarantee you will find something you will obsess over. It will force you to consider Death, Free will vs Destiny, Redemption, Faith and so much more. It is in sharp contrast to the vast amounts of reality t.v shows that are everywhere these days. I would advise you to keep watching up until the very end. Don't be put off by other people reactions. I loved everything about Lost and I wished I were in your position now, sitting down just starting to discover this epic show. Believe me you are just at the tip of the iceberg, it goes so much deeper every season. Why take the chance of missing out on one of the greatest television shows of all time by a few people moaning about the end. You might like what they didn't like. I will leave you with this: even those who are unhappy at the ending won't deny that Lost gave them the opportunity to imagine, obsess, dream, theorize, argue and marvel at life's unknowable mysteries that are showcased so perfectly in Lost.

RWell now that James Spader and Boston Legal (can't believe how often that crap was nominated) is done, hopefully improved. The problem is Brian Cranston for AMC's Breaking Bad and Michael C. Hall from Showtime's Dexter each have to more (their shows aren't ensemble casts); the Emmys are also not huge on sci-fi (even though Lost wasn't fully that genre) so its harder.I hope Lost wins best drama though for the second time, I'd also love to see Terry O'Quinn pick up for best supporting. Each of those might have a little better shot than Matthew; but I agree, he was fantastic this year; and his work in the finale was timeless.
