How many pay per view events a year should a wrestling company have?
Wrestling at 13 April 2009 12:04:12
QI say 12 that way creative isn't cramming a bunch of story lines together that don't make any sense.
RI agree, 12 PPV's is way to many. When I first heard that WWE was having almost two full months between No Way Out and Wrestlemania this year, I thought that was way to long. But it worked out fine. That long break between PPV's gave creative time to build up all of the fueds they had going properly. They didn't have to rush anything and they were able to devote adequate amounts of time to each program they had going. That usually isn't the case with your average WWE PPV. Usually what you get is two world title fueds that are pretty good with a jumble of other matches that are thrown together at the last minute to fill out a three-hour evening. The result usually isn't memorable. Look at No Way Out this year. They had a lot of time between the Royal Rumble and No Way Out to really develop the storylines and it turned out to be one of the best PPV's in years. Then look at Judgement Day 2008. It sucked, to put it bluntly. Every single match was boring and predictable, but it took place just two weeks after Backlash 2008. That just isn't enough time. I mean sure, having a PPV every three weeks is exciting, but the quality drops tremendously. The Undertaker-Shawn Michaels match at Wrestlemania this year wouldn't have been nearly as classic if they had only had two weeks to prepare and put it together. So, all that being said, I think that WWE, or any other wrestling promotion, should run six or seven PPV's over the course of a year. I know that that won't happen because they love the buy rate revenue, but if they spaced out the time between each one, the product would dramatically improve. Here's the ones I'd keep and the one's I'd throw away:KEEP (in order starting from the beginning of the year):Royal RumbleNo Way OutWrestlemaniaOne Night Stand (or whatever it's called now)SummerslamNight of ChampionsSurvivor SeriesGET RID OF:Great American BashBacklashJudgement DayCyber SundayArmageddon

What is the best way to Cram Study for a big test, and any tips on staying awake and alert?
Studying Abroad at 31 March 2006 06:03:50
QI have a huge biology test tomorrow over Evolution, a big topic, and i was wondering what is the best thing to do when im trying to memerize this tedious information. Thanks
RNext time study over the week as opposed to waiting the night of to start studying, that is the real solution to your problem. However since you did wait till the last minute, take it slow and really process all the information you are reading. Turn all the lights on in a room and keep a TV on. Get plenty of snacks and lots of water and juice no coffee until morning. Once you sit down stay as focused as you can and don't wonder off or get distracted. Try to get all the information you can, but leave a couple hours for a power nap, then comes coffee. Good Luck. -Michael

Can someone explain String or M theory better?
Physics at 07 December 2011 11:12:12
QEvery time someone describes it, it makes almost no sense because they try to cram the entire idea into less then 5 minutes of teaching. Can someone explain it better?
RIn theoretical physics, M-theory is an extension of string theory in which 11 dimensions are identified. Because the dimensionality exceeds that of superstring theories in 10 dimensions, proponents believe that the 11-dimensional theory unites all five string theories (and supersedes them). Though a full description of the theory is not known, the low-entropy dynamics are known to be supergravity interacting with 2- and 5-dimensional membranes. This idea is the unique supersymmetric theory in eleven dimensions, with its low-entropy matter content and interactions fully determined, and can be obtained as the strong coupling limit of type IIA string theory because a new dimension of space emerges as the coupling constant increases.Drawing on the work of a number of string theorists (including Ashoke Sen, Chris Hull, Paul Townsend, Michael Duff and John Schwarz), Edward Witten of the Institute for Advanced Study suggested its existence at a conference at USC in 1995, and used M-theory to explain a number of previously observed dualities, initiating a flurry of new research in string theory called the second superstring revolution. In the early 1990s it was shown that the various superstring theories were related by dualities which allow the description of an object in one super string theory to be related to the description of a different object in another super string theory. These relationships imply that each of the super string theories is a different aspect of a single underlying theory, proposed by Witten, and named "M-theory".Originally the letter M in M-theory was taken from membrane, a construct designed to generalize the strings of string theory. However, as Witten was more skeptical about membranes than his colleagues, he opted for "M-theory" rather than "Membrane theory". Witten has since stated that the interpretation of the M can be a matter of taste for the user of the name.[1]M-theory (and string theory) has been criticized for lacking predictive power or being untestable. Further work continues to find mathematical constructs that join various surrounding theories. However, the tangible success of M-theory can be questioned, given its current incompleteness and limited predictive power.

Name some movies or TV episodes with a bad virtual reality scene crammed into them.?
Movies at 11 November 2008 07:11:16
QThe mid 90's were a hilarious time because everyone thought we were going to have virtual reality in every home by 2000, so many movies and TV shows would work this in unnecessary places. A few examples include Michael Douglas in disclosure and an episode of murder she wrote where Jessica Fletcher has to solve a virtual murder. But can anyone help me with some more good examples? Thanks.
R"Nowhere Man" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112104/ ) Episode called "A Rough Whimper of Insanity" which was an anagram for Information Superhighway (does anyone still use that nomenclature?). In the DVD comments, the director admits he had no clue how to "fabricate" a computerized environment - which explains a lot..."Hackers"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113243/That one is bad and was already obsolete in its technological depictions barely months after its release. The inside of a supercomputer is depicted like a city block with skycrapers containing all the information. Watch for a scene where computer geeks are awed by a 28.8kbps modem; gut-busting! Talk about not standing the test of time."Virtual Encounters"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118088/Managed to watch a full 10 minutes of this 3.7/10-rated piece or garnage when it was on cable. "Cyberjack"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112763/An ex-cop turned janitor (think Steven Segal in "Under Siege" but with 1/1000th of the budget) gets into a computer to stop an evil computer virus; the actor is filmed and projected on a bad commodore64-like set of graphics.

Is the reason Christians are primarily Republicans because they have no where else to go?
Politics at 12 July 2009 07:07:32
QThey can't be Democrats because the Democratic party supports abortion. They can't go to a minor party or start their own because they wouldn't have enough power. So is that why they put up with the GOP making them look bad when Republican politicians are caught in ethics scandals and cheating on their wives ?
RThe word "Christian" has been misapplied to cult-evangelicals (read Goldberg, 2006) who have infiltrated and taken over the Republican party. There is a fanatical element to these CINOs (Christian In Name Only) that actually goes against the teachings of most religions, to include a vast majority of Christian sects. Republicans used to be more moderate, with more focus on big business than on social services or labor, whereas Democrats who are moderate tend to focus more on workers and social services with some balance (as with Bill Clinton) on fiscal matters. Any extremism usually has psychological dysfunction as a driving force, and the CINOs who have hijaked the Republican party are no exceptions to this general rule. I don't like to consider myself a "Christian" in the truest sense of the word, although I do believe there was probably a spiritual leader (a guru) named Jesus in early times. My faith in God is absolute; however, my grandmother inspired me to study quantum physics/metaphysics early in life, and this is my choice for religion, because there is SO much meaning when one believes that Omnipotent Good is all. For this reason, when fundamentalists try to ignore our Constitution and cram their narrow version of "religion" down every American's throat to the exclusion of all other religions, I look into their psyches to figure out what creepy-crawly bugs are hidden under their inner "rocks" for which they are overcompensating. In Goldberg's book, a frightenly effective move to take over our government from within was well underway (which Bush aided and abetted by employing eight of Michael Farris's cult-evangelicals in the White House, putting one in the unconstitutional "Office of Faith-Based Initiatives" that funneled billions upon billions of federal dollars to so-called "Christian" charities). Twenty-two right-wing Congressmen have Farris's "culture warriors" from "Generation Joshua" working for them on Capital Hill, too. These people think murdering abortion doctors is "God's will" and they are all homeschooled with a Farris-curriculum that uses literal interpretation of scripture from infancy through adulthood---brainwashed cult-"CINO" evangelists seeking "dominionism"---all highly intolerant of "unbelievers" (which in Farris-speak means anyone who does not think as they do). Where else could these fanatics go but to the Republican party---the one that harps on "family values" ad nauseum but whose members tend to keep getting caught with their hands in the cookie jar and their pants down in more ways than one (hoisted on their own petards). Such hypocrisy! Our economy suffered under these nutjobs, who take a "starve the beast" approach to government, cutting taxes in order to create huge deficits, which they see as a way of eliminating social programs (Democratic base) and maintaining control (check out Grover Norquist, Bush's mentor and financial advisor, on the internet). These extremists are domestic terrorists hiding behind the facade of "Christian"---but they are NOT Christian in the truest sense of the word, although they ARE Republicans, as are the KKK and white supremacist groups. Sad, isn't it?

As a Canadian I have to ask, what are your people thinking do you really want Sarah palin in the limelight?
Elections at 22 January 2011 12:01:09
QI have a healthy respect for Americans. I travel there often, have made wonderful american friends over the years but I am puzzled, how did that woman get pass the Go card, where and how did she gain any sort of notority? Where is her brains? We have a good laugh here in Canada as soon as we see her.
RThe self-absorbed peacock-throne aspirer Palin is an anomoly---a side-effect of the cult-evangelical (fundamentalist) movement that strengthened under GOP's years of TOTALITARIAN rule (between 2001 and 2007) in the U.S. If you research various front-names, like Council on National Policy (CNP) under Bush/Cheney, D.C.'s The Family cult (Sharlet, 2008) and their notoriously Nazi-esque C Street house on Capital Hill (owned by YWAM, another "front" name), Heritage Foundation, Cato Institute, or cult-branch leader Michael Farris and his "culture warriors" home-schooled "since infancy" to TAKE DOMINION (Goldberg, 2006) over every level of our government---local, state, and federal, you will begin to get an inkling of the SHEER MAGNITUDE of this CANCER that seized control of the Republican party in Reagan days, but which has spread throughout our military, our corporations and defense contractors (Trijicon, Blackwater being two bad examples), and our political system---GOAL: a very well-funded and intricately planned THEOCRATIC COUP enroute to the ultimate goal of WORLD DOMINATION. This is all posted on the YWAM and Youth With A Mission websites, and Palin is one of their "chosen ones" connected through her Wasilla, Alaska pentecostal church. She is stupid---the movement prefers their women to be NOT LIBERATED and STUPID, just a shade above children in being "seen but not heard" and they think women should "always obey their husbands" (read Sharlet's book exposing the notorious C Street house where right-wing Senators and Representatives reside, including "death penalty for gays" Inhofe, R-OK, and adulteror hypocrite Ensign, R-NV). The home-schooled minions are actually quite dangerous (read Goldberg's well-researched book cited below), because they have been brainwashed (INDOCTRINATED, is the word preferred by YWAM jesus camp fanatics and The Family (a.k.a., The Foundation, Generation Joshua, The Federation, etc.). The teapotty is an offshoot of this fanaticism as well. O'Donnell (TP-SC) was an example, and so was Sharron "2nd Amendment solution for losing" Angle of Nevada. Palin was HAND-PICKED by the cult and then crammed down McCain's throat through coercion because she is "evangelical," egomaniacal, and accepts a LITERAL interpretation of scripture as the "only reality." Why did the media allow her to TARGET nonviolent legitimate political opponents with a map depicting CROSSHAIRS of a GUN?? She POSTED this monstrosity on a PUBLIC WEBSITE and then deliberately STIRRED UP the GUN NUTS of her teapotty base with "Don't Retreat...RELOAD!" Since when do Americans issue death threats against other Americans simply because they are your political opponents??? The teapotty obviously does...and the mainsteam media looking for ratings lets them. That's an ABOMINATION! Palin should have been arrested and charged with contributory negligence, reckless endangerment, and solicitation of gun violence as soon as the shootings in Arizona (one of her TARGETS) occurred.

Why does everyone criticize michael bay?
Movies at 10 March 2012 10:03:01
QI mean what more can you expect from a movie about warring Toy robots? Everyone comes down hard on him claiming his movies have no plot, etc. Not every movie is gonna be the Godfather, or shutter island. The way I see it is I dont mind just seeing 2 hour CGI robot deathmatch . Its a genre people. By the way Transformers 3 DOTM grossed 1 billion so obivously people still go.
RI dislike Bay as a filmmaker because he's almost a perfect embodiment of a filmmaker who is all style with no substance. His films are visually flashy, but take that away and what's left? Underwritten characters, tired and/or uninspired plots and major lapses in logic or plausibility. Personally I think the best flick he ever made was Bad Boys, but if that film's successful it's because of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, and not anything Bay did as a director.A movie about toy robots doesn't have to be JUST a movie about toy robots, anymore than a movie about a robotic cop has to be JUST about a robotic cop. And I'm kind of glad that RoboCop is a film that just sprang to my mind, because it, too, could have been a one-note, all-sizzle/no steak action flick but the filmmakers decided instead to fill it with interesting and entertaining characters and a compelling human story to go along with all the robo-action. Bay never seems to bother with anything but how it looks and how many special effects he can cram into each frame.

Given Sarah Palin's hateful rhetoric, is it safe to assume that she will not run for President?
Politics at 14 January 2011 02:01:35
QEven Republican Governor Chris Christie is saying she will never be President. And some GOP Presidential Candidates have started to distance themselves from her comments.
RThese nutjob far-right neocons have no shame and no social conscience either...so my guess is her cult (The Family/YWAM/Heritage Foundation/Cato Institute) handlers and coaches will continue to set her up as a facade---a figurehead (like Douglas Coe in Washington is The Family's figurehead) to keep up appearances and camouflage their evil intention of staging a theocratic COUP from inside our political system at all levels (Goldberg, 2006; Schaefer, 2007, Sharlet, 2008, 2010). Palin is connected to this religious-fanatic cult through her pentecostal Wasilla church and the YWAM dominionists and biblical literalists---they CHOSE her to be the VP candidate despite being unqualified and then CRAMMED her down McCain's unwilling throat (he had wanted to choose Joe Liberman). Do some research on the "jesus camp" extremism of the YWAM and Youth With A Mission websites (separate sites). Look up their crazy (but frighteningly accurate) "Seven Mountains" set up by founder Lauren Cunningham---the seven "spheres" of any society over which to take control in order to stage a THEOCRATIC COUP of any nation, including the United States. Their ultimate goal, as stated on the websites if you dig far enough, is WORLD DOMINATION with a biblical-literalist "Christian" religion only. All nonbelievers (non-pentecostal and non-biblical literalists) are viewed by these crazy people to be "the spawn of Satan." Palin is their "annointed one," and these ruthless dominionists (Goldberg, 2006---a must read, especially Michael Farris and his home-schooling "since infancy" or brainwashing of an entire generation of our children that is now spread to all 50 states...he calls these his "culture warriors" until they are adults, and they then become his "Generation Joshua" groomed to take public office at local (school boards, city council), state, and federal levels in order to TAKE CONTROL of the "Seven Mountains": business, schools, financial institutions, churches, social policies and groups, media, military. They very nearly succeeded from 2001 through 2007, and Palin plus the more-extreme-than-the-GOP-extremists teapartiers is this movement's "hope" for the "Christian" takeover come 2012. Funding by reform-resenting LOBBYISTS on Wall Street (Rupert Murdoch owns the DOW), banksters, big-oil (Koch brothers, National Petroleum Institute who funded teabaggers' signs and buses, etc.), insurance industry, pharmaceuticals...you don't think the CORPORATE-COLLUDING REPUBLICANS and the teabagging evangelicals would not have BILLIONS of dollars at the ready? We need to stop them NOW!

What chooses what time and place we are born?
Philosophy at 20 March 2009 03:03:01
QI am a Christian , so I believe in God, and all , but what about the rest of you , what do you think?I know I am nuts , LOL.
RYou make your choice when the right time comes.(quote from Dr Michael Newton website):When the wounds of a past life are healed and we are again totally at one with ourselves, we feel the pull of having a physical expression for our identity. Training sessions with our counselors and peer groups have provided a collaborative spiritual effort to prepare us for the next life. Our karma of past deeds towards humanity and our mistakes and achievements have all been evaluated with an eye toward the best course of future endeavors. The souls must now assimilate all this information and take purposeful action based upon three primary decisions: (1) Am I ready for a new physical life?(2) What specific lessons do I want to undertake to advance my learning and development?(3) Where should I go, and who shall I be in my next life for the best opportunity to work on my goals?Once a soul has decided to incarnate again, the next stage in the return process is to be directed to the place of life selection. Souls consider when and where they want to go on Earth before making a decision on who they will be in their new life. While some spiritual locales for life selection are difficult for my subjects to describe, they use remarkably similar descriptions. He is told it resembles a movie theater which allows souls to see themselves in the future, playing different roles in various settings. In this place of life selection, our souls preview the life span of more than one human being within the same time cycle. When we leave this area, most souls are inclined toward one leading candidate presented to us for soul occupation. However, our spiritual advisors give us ample opportunity to reflect upon all we have seen in the future before making a final decision. After souls have completed their consultations with guides and peers about the many physical and psychological ramifications of a new life and body choice, the decision to incarnate is made. It would be logical to assume that they would then go immediately to Earth. This doesn't happen before a significant element of preparation occurs. The space souls go to for this in the spirit world is commonly called the place of recognition, or recognition class. I am told the activity here is like cramming for a final exam. One of the last requirements before embarkation for many souls is to go before the Council of Elders for the second time. The spirit world is an environment personified by order and the Elders want to reinforce the significance of a soul's goals for the next life. Some return to their spirit group after this meeting to say goodbye while others say they leave immediately for reincarnation. Those souls getting ready for embarkation to Earth are like battle-hardened veterans girding themselves for combat. This is the last chance for souls to enjoy the omniscience of knowing just who they are before they must adapt to a new body.
