David Eddings: There are three stories in Volume I of The Belgariad: Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, and Magician's Gambit. Volume II of The Belgariad has two stories: Castle of Wizardry and Enchanters' End Gambit. If you are looking for grand adventure and plenty of detail it is here. Some may object to the slow progression and limited action of this tale. A sorcerer and his daughter, a sorceress, have gathered together a group of individuals to fight evil. It seems that the particular make-up for this group is necessary based upon an ancient prophecy. The group includes: the Nimble Thief, the Man with Two Lives, the Blind Man, the Dreadful Bear, the Knight Protector, the Horse Lord, the Bowman, the Queen of the World, and the Mother of the Race that Died. A young boy named Garion, who was raised by his Aunt Pol, is caught up in all of this, though he doesn't know why. But then, is she really his Aunt? There is so much detail that I have not as yet confirmed there are no mistakes in the mapping of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed The Belgariad and look forward to reading the sequel, The Mallorean. RYou can do it. Its called cross processing but the results are a bit unpredictable and it never will look like exactly like black and white film developed with a black and white process. Depending on the type of color film they can come out quite thin if you do not increase processing time. Cross procesing is normally done by processing negative films in E-6. but you can do E6/C41 as B&W: taking colour reversal or negative film and processing as black and white. This results in a black and white negative. As colour film is usually more expensive than B&W, you may want to only use this technique if you are out shooting colour and decide you'd rather have B&W. In cross processing Kodachrome with black & white chemicals, a longer developing time is required to process all the black & white layers than is possible with automated equipment, and to compensate for this it is best to OVEREXPOSE your film by two f/stops. This is the only adjustment needed when filming. "Cross processing color films in black and white developer is also talked about in "Advanced Photography" By Michael Langford where on page 207 he notes that you can make black and white prints after an error processing this way or that MAY be able to salvage the color if you "bleach the black silver to silver halide, fogging it to a strong light and giving a full C41 process "
