RAll the Lovely Bad Ones, Promises of the Dead, The Doll in the Garden and others by Mary Downing Hahn. These appealed to my daughter (11 now) a year or so ago. Not very long, and just spooky enough without being scary.She also liked some of the Robert san Souci and Alvin Schwartz ghost story collections like Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Dare to be Scared.My 9 year old is reading a series by E.D. Baker called Frog Princess. She likes them because they're funny, and they're around a 5th or 6th grade level. She also loved the Franny K Stein books by Jim Benton (funny and fairly small).There's a series that's a lot like Wimpy Kid, but aimed more toward girls called Dork Diaries by Rachel Renee Russell. Dear Dumb Diary by Jim Benton are fairly short, funny and written in diary format. Marisa Moss also has a diary type series with a lot of graphics in the margins called Amelia (I think Amelia's Notebook was the first).There's The Bone series by Jeff Smith. It's a graphic novel but kids love it. And a manga called Fruit Basket that is age appropriate. I don't like the graphic books very much, but my kids love them. My 9 year old also loves the Warriors series by Erin Hunter, but she started with the graphic novelization...after she read all the graphics she wanted to read all the books.

RFirstly, it is CA, not ACB. Cricket Australia is focused on making more money these days. The selectors aren't doing a great job either. Some players should never have traveled to India on merit. The best thing the greats can do is come out of retirement and play again. CA needs to find their replacements fast. Unfortunately they aren't doing anything. Yes, T20 is the probably the cause for their decline. The Australian batsmen lacked patience and it was clear from the way they were getting out. On the contrary, it was a revelation that Indians didn't lack patience. You see these Indian guys like Pujara, Dhawan, Vijay play first class matches more than T20 for the country. Okay, Virat Kohli has played a lot of limited overs games but he has also found feet in tests. While, Watsons and Warners and Maxwells are basically T20 experts these days. The remaining batsmen failed because they lacked the technique. Regards.

RLong story... My biological father passed away before his time in a self inflicted tragedy, (NOT suicide). My 'Real' father(s) were the onse who really raised me. Both named Bill, (my mom's second husband and her fourth husband). Bill #1 is lving in Montana and occasionally racing motocross (with his OLDER brother) and Bill #2 passed away tragically in the 80's.
