Any good quotes on happiness and success?
Quotations at 13 May 2011 05:05:22
QIn my country we have this tradition to write best wishes and motivational things on strips to those who finish a college course. I thought I could start with a quote.
RQUOTES ON HAPPINESS - “Everyone chases after happiness, not noticing that happiness is right at their heels.” - Bertolt Brecht“But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?” - Albert Camus“Make happy those who are near, and those who are far will come” - Chinese Proverbs“The pain I feel now is the happiness I had before. That's the deal.” - C.S. Lewis“Be happy. It's one way of being wise.” - Sidonie Gabrielle“It is very important to generate a good attitude, a good heart, as much as possible. From this, happiness in both the short term and the long term for both yourself and others will come.” - Dalai Lama“Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.” - Leon Joseph Cardinal Suenens“When what we are is what we want to be, that's happiness.” - Malcolm S. Forbes“To be kind to all, to like many and love a few, to be needed and wanted by those we love, is certainly the nearest we can come to happiness.” - Mary StuartSUCCESS QUOTES - “Success builds character, failure reveals it” - Dave Checkett“I'd rather be a failure at something I love than a success at something I hate.” - George F. Burns“I have had all of the disadvantages required for success.” - Larry Ellison“The success combination in business is: Do what you do better... and: do more of what you do...” - David Joseph Schwartz“Our limitations and success will be based, most often, on your own expectations for ourselves. What the mind dwells upon, the body acts upon.” - Denis Waitley“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.” - Vince Lombardi“There is no success without hardship.” - Sophocles“There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.” - Epictetus“Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibility... in the final analysis, the one quality that all successful people have... is the ability to take on responsibility.” - Michael Korda“Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.” - Og Mandino

QWhat old musical has a song with the words "I will confess, the answer is yes, darling" and what's its name?
RYou are probably thinking of "Music in the Air" (1934), starring Gloria Swanson. The song was "I've Told Every Little Star" (music composed by Jerome Kern, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II), performed by Douglass Montgomery (dubbed by James O'Brien) and June Lang (dubbed by Betty Heistand). It was also recorded by:Cannonball Adderley, Jamey Aebersold, Anything Goes, Michael Ballam, Stanley Black, Pat Boone, Ray Conniff, Kenny Drew, Eddy Duchin, Mary Ellis, Percy Faith, Ferrante & Teicher, George Feyer, Henry Hall & the BBC Dance Orchestra, Peggy King, Dorothy Kirsten, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Marion Marlowe, Dave McKenna, Marian McPartland, Misha Mengelberg, Joan Morris, Sonny Rollins, Annie Ross, Perico Sambeat, Mike Sammes Singers, Jonathan Schwartz, Linda Scott, and Margaret Whiting. The lyrics are:I've told every little starJust how sweet I think you areWhy haven't I told youI've told ripples in a brookMade my heart an open bookWhy haven't I told youFriends ask me am I in loveI always answer yesMight as well confessIf I don't they guess.Maybe you may know it tooOh my darling if you doWhy haven't you told me.
