RAfter her whole "Oops i Did it Again" thing, she wanted to branch out and be independent (think Miley Cyrus nowadays). It started with her music changing ("I'm a Slave for you" for an example), and her clothes (like when she appeared on the VMA's with see-through & cut clothing). After that, she met Kevin Federline, she changed again. He basically used her for money & fame. She had her two sons, was happy & then hit rock bottom (shaving her head, crazy paparazzi stuff, holding her son hostage from his dad, etc) & her music hit a rough patch. Her album Blackout did pretty good (no where near as good as it could have though) but her video's & performances with songs from the album weren't so good (VMA's when she sang Gimme More is a great example of this). Afterwards, her dad became guardian & helped her out. He set rules etc to get her back on the right path. Her image eventually got better, and she became who she is today. Her Circus tour for an example did amazing, and everyone said that "Britney is Back!". In the beginning, Britney was all about the good-girl innocent image. Later, she went pop/rock with controversial music/lyrics. Then she went "dark" so to speak. Now, she's back to her old self with music that is true to who she really is. Now doesn't this all seem pretty Christina Aguilera-ish? :D
