List of Best Fiction to Read to My Kids?
Books & Authors at 17 December 2008 06:12:25
QI am searching everywhere for a good list or two of the best fiction to read to my six- and four-year old kids. They loved Kipling's Jungle Book, and Dahl's James and the Giant Peach. I'm looking desperately for others that would be on that same level, to read to them. Not finding much so far. Individual recommendations or any good sources of lists would be much appreciated.

Treasure Island is too scary for young children.

What is your fav children's multicultural book?
Other - Education at 23 February 2008 03:02:21
QI love Smoky Night by Eve Bunting. Here is what the cover looks like:http://www.booksamillion.com/bam/covers/0/15/201/884/0152018840.jpg
RGrowing up my favorites were: Harry, the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion; One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss; and Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. I read them all the time! I also read a lot of Judy Blume. Now my favorite books are the pigeon books by Mo Willems. They are great for 'audience' participation. Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus; Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late; The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog. The owl books by Jonathan Allen are so cute! I'm Not Cute! and I'm Not Scared! A great book for a child who is having a hard time learning is Robert Kraus's Leo the Late Bloomer. I also like anything by Kevin Henkes, Mercer Mayer, Robert Munsch, Laura Joffe Numeroff, Richard Scarry, Rosemary Wells. Betsy Byars, Katherine Patterson, and Laura Ingalls Wilder are my favorite chapter book writers.A great book for middle/high schoolers is Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.Oops...sorry...I missed the part about multicultural children's books!

What would the budget of this film be just with these list of actors/actresses?
Movies at 27 April 2010 02:04:37
QJulianna Guill (Friday the 13th)Amanda Righetti (Friday the 13th)Katie Cassidy (Black Christmas, Taken)Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Final Destination 3, Black Christmas)Nick Zano (The Final Destination 3-D)Pamela Anderson (Borat)Riley Steele (Piranha 3-D)Jared Padalecki (House of Wax, Friday the 13th)Betsy Rue (My bloody valentine 3-D, Miss March)Jensen Ackles (My bloody valentine 3-D)Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct)
RIt's not the actors that make the budget of a film -- it's the location, crew numbers, set rentals, etc. The actors' budgets are figured last, so when a film is decided to be made, production companies don't necessarily figure in actors' paychecks. If a movie is a box office disaster (no matter how good it is), actors can get jipped a lot of money they were supposed to make. Other actors get paid first, A-listers, etc. What you're looking at is how much these actors would demand, and from what I can see from that list, you're looking at about eleven million. Sharon Stone and Pamela Anderson would ask for three or four each, with young and virtually unknown acotrs like Julianna Guill and Nick Zano asking for little more than half a million.
