What are some very good instrumental music artists and songs?
Jazz at 14 March 2009 05:03:01
Qi love instrumental music but dont know that many intrumental music artists and songs. I only know kenny G. give me some advice or list a bunch and why they are good. Thanks a lot on making my instrumental hunt easier.
RChet Atkins is one of the greatest guitarists of all time and usually did instrumental stuff. If you like Atkins, you may also like Jerry Reed and Buster B. Jones. Also, he doesn't usually play mainly instrumentals, but modern country guitarist Brad Paisley released an album back in November called PLAY. That album had 11 great instrumentals on it. And Paisley went placed most country guitarists wouldn't dare to go--surf rock, blues, rock, etc. PLAY really shows just how versatile Paisley is as a guitarist. In fact, he seems to be a musical chameleon with how well he can play ANY genres with ease!Danny Gatton was another great guitarist. He was able to play many genres well and I've often called Brad Paisley another version of Danny Gatton, when it comes to guitar. There's also a female bassist by the name of Tal Wilkenfeld whose stuff I believe is completely instrumental. If you love jazz guitar, you'll want to check out Wes Montgomery, Lenny Breau and Mike Stern. For rock guitar masters, check out Eric Johnson, Steve Vai and Paul Gilbert. If you want country guitar, check out Brad Paisley, Brent Mason, Albert Lee, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed. For acoustic guitar, check out Monte Montgomery.Keep in mind, however, that not all the artists I've mentioned stick strictly to instrumental work. Also, Brent Mason is a session guitarist who has an album which is out-of-print, but also receyly released an album with his brother and drummer, Randy Mason. Also, sorry for mentioning so many guitarists!

QI got a new conductor costume and was wondering if there were any good songs to dance to that would go with the costume. I've already looked into "Hot Chocolate" from The Polar Express, so please don't say that. Thanks!

Can anyone suggest a good 2 man duet?
Performing Arts at 01 January 2011 05:01:40
QMy husband and his brother are recording some more tracks in the Spring and we're trying to select more songs. They've done a lot of old jazz standards, Broadway, and Michael Buble'. They're trying to do a few more popular things, though, to get more notice. We had thought of making a few songs into duets, but nothing seems to quite be clicking. Our two best suggestions were "Let Me Love You, Mario" and "Down, Jay Sean"They're good with sort of R&B type stuff where they can be the smooth guys singing about women, but not in a derogatory way.
RThis is my play list of songs for Coffeehouses and almost all of these songs can be done solo, duets or the whole damn room, so they should be able to find something they can use in these songs..A QUARTER PAST WONDERFUL... What is a good novel to take and read while on a trip?
Books & Authors at 07 March 2009 07:03:04
QPreferrably a long novel like a book from the Twilight series to take with me. (I'd take the Twilight series but I don't have access to borrowing them from the library - a bunch of people have already requested them -.-) 300 pages would be okay too.

What books should i read over the summer?
Books & Authors at 15 July 2008 04:07:19
QI've been really bored lately and i just love reading but i haven't really found anything interesting to stumble on. I'm really into books like "Pretty little liars", "pretty little devils", "The clique series", "Speak", "Harry Potter", "Gossip Girl", "A child called it", "My bloody life", and "Girl, interrupted". I like books that deal with mystery, drama, romance, horror and teenage angst. I especially love books about high school like the clique series or gossip girl. Any suggestions please?I also love "That was then, this is Now" and the outsiders.

What are some good starting songs for my small jazz band?
Jazz at 23 May 2012 07:05:41
QWe are all kinda experienced guys who want to put together a small jazz band. We have a keyboard, tenor sax, trumpet/trombone, upright bass, and a drummer. We've all played in bands before but none of us have ever played jazz. What are some good songs to introduce us to bebop? Nothing too crazy. Please if at all possible provide sheet music or a place to buy the sheet music.
