Anne Poley-Siblesz

I am responsible for the relocation process of all sorts of clients that mostly work for multinationals themselves. My work involves assisting them with their house search, settling in and feeling at home in a place often far away from home.I have learned to adapt in a complete new working environment and I have been improving my languages (French and English) and communication skills on different (cultural) levels. No day is the same and because my work expects continuous interaction with other people, it is an exciting challenge every day again.

During my six month traineeship at the Economic Department of the Dutch Permanent Mission in Geneva, I dealt with different WTO- and UNCTAD-related topics, such as the Doha Development Agenda, Dispute Settlement, Trade Policy Reviews and Competition Policy.These six months have been a very enriching experience, for I have had the opportunity to intensify my knowledge on the above issues and been allowed to see the cultural diversity embedded this international world.

My work at the Dutch Competition Authority consisted of detecting cartels and abuse of a dominant position and the assessment of mergers and acquisitions. I did this either as a team member or as a project leader. I had a special interest in European Regulations and attended meetings of DG Competition in Brussels.I enjoyed working at the NMa, the interaction with colleagues, the teamwork and the involvement in more in-depth issues regarding the organization of the NMa. Furthermore, I was one of the three initiators of JongNMa (young co-workers association).

I wrote a thesis on the consequences of the possible enlargement of the EU with the countries of the Western Balkan.
