    Full HR Generalist function.JHDA was bought into by Taggart Global LLC US (an American Based Operation). Prior to this no Human Resources existed. The role of the HR Manager was to set up and implement all aspects of Human Resources in line with best practice, from pay slips to industrial relations. Late 2009, Taggart Global LLC purchased another South African business – LSL Tekpro, who too had no HR. My role has included the due diligence on the HR for the purchase as well as overseeing the HR operations of both JHDA and LSL/Tekpro. Taggart-JHDA employed at its peak in 2009 450 + people through salaries, wages, independent contracts, labour brokers and US Ex-pats. LSL/Tekpro employs in the region of 45 people through salaries and labour brokers.The role has been challenging and touched on every aspect of HR, people management and Emotional Intelligence in terms of implementing best practice in a company reluctant to change from Senior Management to Entry level resources, given that HR was employed by the buying entity in the USA.

My primary focus is Employee Wellbeing, Remuneration and Benefits and Training and Development, all of which work towards the creation of a retention strategy.

    Full HR Generalist Role.Smartcom is a Telecom’s organization, being a Vodacom only service provider which focuses on high end billers. I was employed as the 64th employee at Smartcom, peaking at a 150 employees. My initial function was to set up all the necessary HR policies and procedures, as none existed.
